IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals Captain, Points Table, Full Squad, Schedule

IPL 2023: Since the league’s initial season, the Delhi franchise has been a member. Prior to changing their name to Delhi Capitals, the team was known as Delhi Daredevils from 2008 to 2018. At Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the team plays their home games. The team hasn’t won a single IPL championship. Because of a car accident in December 2022, regular captain Rishabh Pant won’t be able to play in 2023. In 2023, Australian starting pitcher David Warner would take over as the Delhi Capitals’ captain in place of Pant.

History

Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan, Gautam Gambhir, Tillakaratne Dilshan, and AB de Villiers have all been signed by the franchisee in the past. But, the franchise was unable to support these well-known players and had to let them go. The club reached the semifinals in the first two years (2008 and 2009), then advanced to the Playoffs in 2012. From 2013 to 2018, when they finished outside the top 5, the franchise was at its lowest point in its history. Everything improved and worsened when ownership changed. From 2019 to 2021, the Capitals made the championship game in 2020 and the play-offs twice.

The Capitals just missed the playoffs the previous season.

Key players

Rishabh Pant

While Pant’s IPL performance has been good, his bat hasn’t really made a difference in 2022. In terms of statistics, Pant has 2838 runs scored and a strike rate of 147.96. Pant will be hoping for significant totals in the next IPL after failing to distinguish himself in the white ball format.

David Warner

The Australian opening batter was acquired by Capitals at the IPL 2022 for Rs 6.25 crore. Warner scored 432 runs at a strike rate of 150.52 in his rookie season, and he did not disappoint. He will play a crucial role for DC at the top of the order once more, and he will be striving to outperform himself from the previous season.

Kuldeep Yadav

The left arm spinner made a strong first impression for his new team, the Delhi Capitals, last season. He became his team’s leading wicket-taker after accumulating 21 wickets in just 14 games.
