He broke AB de Villiers’ record for the fewest innings needed by a South African batter to attain the milestone by accomplishing it in his 112th IPL game. KL Rahul is the record holder overall (91 innings).

#2 Chennai Super Kings’ record was broken by Lucknow Super Giants

At 23-3, Lucknow Super Giants were trailing but scored with the final ball to make it 213-9. With their comeback victory, LSG broke the previous record for the most runs scored by a side (190) in an IPL match following the loss of the third wicket.

The previous record-holder was Chennai Super Kings. After CSK lost their third wicket against Punjab Kings in 2008, they scored 178 runs to go from 57-3 to 240-5.

#3 In an IPL 2023 game, Harshal Patel broke Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s record

After Lasith Malinga, Harshal Patel is now the second-fastest player overall to reach 100 IPL wickets.

In IPL 2023 on Monday night, Harshal Patel took two wickets for RCB. He set a new record for the fewest innings needed by an Indian to complete 100 wickets in the IPL. In his 79th innings, Patel achieved the milestone.

The record was previously held by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who finished 81 innings with his 100th wicket. Lasith Malinga holds the overall record after taking his 100th wicket in his 70th innings.
