History
Royal Challengers Bangalore is yet to have won an IPL championship despite having a star-studded team every year. Only in 2011 thanks to Chris Gayle’s outstanding batting performance that year did RCB come close to winning the IPL. The squad has consistently finished in the middle of the pack since Virat Kohli was named captain in 2011 and has just once made it to the championship game. The franchisee history’s two lowest points, when they could only win 4 and 5 games respectively, were the debut season (2008) and 2014.

Key Players
Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli, who won the 2008 Under-19 World Cup as captain, signed with a franchisee and is still a franchisee player. He has 13 years of team experience and multiple notable runs to his credit while donning the RCB colours. In 2016, he broke the previous record with 973 runs, including four hundreds, to help RCB get to the final game. The group, however, fell short of taking home the trophy.
Yuzvendra Chahal
After three years, the majority of which were spent with Mumbai Indians, Chahal joined RCB in 2014. The leg spinner gained appreciation with the audience and ultimately became the top wicket-taker for RCB. His best performance for the RCB was his second-highest IPL wicket count during the 2016 season.
Harshal Patel
The right arm pacer previously belonged to Team RCB in 2012, but he was unsuccessful in leaving an impression. But things have changed for him when he returned to the franchise in 2021. In addition to gaining his first call-up to India, he had a great season, taking 32 wickets. He finished the previous season in the top 10 wicket-takers with 19 wickets taken.
