The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a men’s tournament similar to the IPL for women this year. At the time of writing this article, the teams have been decided and the player bidding has been completed. The inaugural edition of WPL will begin on 04 March 2023 with a match between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians.

Women’s IPL 2023 Teams Company (Venue/City)
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has acquired a massive Rs. 4669.99 Crores from the auction of the five franchises in the newly created Women’s Premier League. The Adani group, Reliance, Diageo India, JSW-GMR, and Capri Global bought the five Women’s IPL 2023 franchises for Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Lucknow, respectively.

WPL 2023: List of Teams and Players

The teams have been finalized after the auction held on 13 and 14 February. Capped and uncapped players from around the world will be seen participating in cash-rich tournaments. WPL 2023 Schedule, Match Venues
The first edition’s WPL schedule has been released by BCCI. The BCCI has opened the doors for the league at a higher level for women’s cricket, hence the competition is being marketed as Women’s IPL.
The competition will start on March 4th, 2023. The tournament’s championship game will take place on March 27, 2023. At Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium, all games will be contested.
